Reehana Rifat Raza, the regional director of the Asia and Pacific Division at the International Fund for Agricultural Development, said in an interview with China Daily that other Asia-Pacific countries can learn from China’s success in rural vitalization and poverty alleviation.
She said that, given the global environmental concerns, we need to arrive at a balance between modernization and ecological agriculture.
“I think China could lead the way in thinking about how we modernize agriculture, with this challenge in front of us,” she said, adding “how to sustain productivity of agriculture when we don't want to use the conventional tools — this is going to be the real next challenge for all countries”.
