Qatari scholar: BRI fosters China, Middle East cooperation

Kheir Diabat, a professor in the Foreign Affairs Department of Qatar University, said in a recent interview that China’s experiences in economic development could help Middle Eastern countries and that the Global Development Initiative that China has proposed is important.
He said that many countries in the Middle East see the Belt and Road Initiative as a project of the next economic century that will define the new features of the balance of power in international systems. And the GDI could contribute to creating new avenues for trade and cooperation between the Far East and the Middle East.
