New designs of French brand pay tribute to its history of fine handicraft
Animals have been a recurring motif of Lalique, the 134-year-old brand founded by French glass artist, designer and jeweler Rene Lalique. And the 12 zodiac signs of Chinese traditions have also been depicted on the brand's products.
In celebration of the Year of the Rabbit in 2023, Lalique has launched a sculpture of a resting rabbit, rendered in clear, gold and pink, as a wish for happiness and luck. It continues the brand's motivation to reach out to a wider fan base in the country, as it already had offered tiger sculptures this year.
People visiting Lalique stores in downtown Beijing can also find other new products that pay tribute to its craftsmanship of finement, manifested by its century-old factory and studio in the French commune of Winger-sur-Moder, such as the classic Bacchantes vases and designs in cooperation with late architect Zaha Hadid.
