Pasta conference chews on industry data
The 2021 World Pasta Industry Development Conference was held in Datong, Shanxi province on Friday.
It was the second edition of the event, and co-hosted by the World Federation of Chinese Catering Industry and the Datong government.
A report on China's pasta industry development in 2021 was released during the conference, showing pasta (or noodles) has played an important role in the catering industry.
According to Yan Bo, public affairs director of food delivery service Meituan, Shaanxi's Xi'an, Chongqing, Shanghai, Beijing and Sichuan's Chengdu are the top five cities with the most pasta restaurants.
Wang Wenjiang, deputy secretary general of the World Federation of Chinese Catering Industry, issued the standards for making traditional sliced noodles during the event.
A youth pasta competition was also held, and top chefs presented their skills to the audience during the conference.
