Grand showcase of oracle bone scripts

If you need some art to spice up your weekend, an ongoing exhibition held at the National Museum of China in Beijing should probably be on your agenda.

This year marks the 120th anniversary of the discovery of the oracle bone inscriptions, the earliest known form of Chinese writing that dates back 3,000 years.

The Beijing museum has put together more than 190 oracle bones, a raft of archaic bronze artifacts, pottery works, and carved jade pieces, showcasing the history of the Shang (c.16th century-11th century BC) and Zhou (c.11th century-256 BC) dynasties.

The exhibition runs through Dec 22.
