China Unicom promised to build a new-generation telecommunication network by allocating all its resources to guarantee the best quality.

China Telecom also said it would establish gigabit network access in the special economic zone, meaning the downstream bandwidth can achieve 1G. It also plans to provide reliable infrastructure to enable the city take full advantage of information and communication technology earlier than other regions.

The New Area about 100 kilometers southwest of downtown Beijing will span three counties that sit at the center of the triangle formed by Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei's provincial capital Shijiazhuang. The central government is now considering specific support measures and will provide policy and funding support for the new area's major projects in transportation, ecology, water conservation, energy and public services. A number of central State-owned companies have promised to actively support this initiative.
